This is my life right now:

Boxes Galore. (And this is only a fraction of them)

We are moving THIS SATURDAY!

We still have a lot to do but I am SO ready for it to be over. Packing while pregnant and watching a toddler is difficult but thankfully I have an awesome husband who stays up late making sure everything gets done.

Also, our landlord decided to install this lovely glass door on Sunday... right before we move. As you can see Jude has already decorated it with sidewalk chalk. (Here's hoping we don't break it during the move and that I don't accidentally run in to it.)

So for the next few days I live in this disaster zone I call home. We trying to keep the toddler occupied, which mostly means watching Star Wars or Toy Story multiple times a day. I try to ignore the walls of boxes that seem to be closing in on me.

Deep Breaths.

This will all be over soon.

As soon as you remove that diaper from your newborn baby boy be prepared to get peed on. Little boys are like a fountain when exposed. When Jude was born we experienced many pee pee surprises. This time we are going to be prepared for Baby Boy 2. Beba Bean Pee-pee Teepees are a quick, easy and cute way to keep pee pee from getting everywhere.

Zhu Zhu Puppies Review

There are new Zhu Zhu pets in the neighborhood, Zhu Zhu Puppies. Jude loves doggies so I thought this would be perfect for his first Zhu Zhu. Like the original ZhuZhu Pets, all ZhuZhu Puppies have their very own unique personality and whimsical sounds. They also have their very own selection of playsets, outfits and accessories.

We received Dakota, Sabrina, the Posh Puppy Playhouse, the Bark Park and the Pretty Pink Dress. I think Jude's favorite part is putting together the play sets. I love to watch the pups roam around. I was pretty surprised how well they did crossing different terrain.

Jude also loves taking his Zhu Zhu pups with him and putting Sabrina in her Pretty Pink Dress. I love watching him play pretend with his Zhu Zhu puppies, it's some of the first pretend play he's done by himself. All-in-all Zhu Zhu Puppies were a huge hit in our house and I bet they will be loved by your kids as well.

Baby 2 is due the beginning of June. The beginning of summer. Hot, hot North Carolina summers.

While I like the idea of swaddling my newborn baby the thought of wrapping baby in a warm blank midsummer makes me sweat. That is why I love Aden + Anais' muslin swaddling blankets. The fabric’s light, open weave allows a baby’s body temperature to regulate itself naturally, helping to reduce the risk of overheating. It is gentle on baby’s skin and durable for everyday use.

I absolutely love the beautiful patters and colors of the swaddle blankets by Aden + Anais. They are generously sized so even bigger babies can still be swaddled. When Jude was born I had a hard time using regular blankets to swaddle him because he was already so big. The swaddle blankets are already soft but continue to get softer with each wash. Jude loves to read. Every night before bed we read a few books together. Currently, his favorite book is Star Wars Heroes. I love that he will site for a long time just looking through all of his books.

A new Taste & Smell Research Foundation conducted study, commissioned by the maker Pine-Sol® cleaners, found that children who perform better at school almost always identify their homes with scents associated with clean. The study also showed a correlation between memory of positive scents and performance, demonstrating that it begins at an early age and is something that parents can impact. 

Children who perform better at school almost always identify their homes with scents associated with clean - 84% of students reporting GPAs of A or B had positive childhood home smells – using descriptors like “lemony, minty or clean”; with only 16% noting negative smells at home.
Those who recalled their childhood home as being an environment with negative smells or aromas were two-times more likely to have a lower grade point average (GPA) than those that did not.
The study demonstrated a positive connection between a well-cared home and the sort of stable family environment that promotes academic success, self-esteem, learning and harmony – and enhances achievement later in life.
34% of students with a GPA grade of C or less, remembered negative childhood home aromas including urine, fecal and mold – double the percentage of those with higher GPAs.

One of the best parts of preparing for baby is shopping for adorable baby items. And by adorable I mean super cute and cuddly rattles like those designed by Blabla Kids.

We've finally ventured into the world of potty training. Since we use cloth diapers I wanted an easy to use cloth option for potty training. Something that would give a little protect but encourage Jude to use the potty. Nutella - The prefect morning playdate snack

There are a wonderful group of moms in my area that get together on occasion for play dates. There are kids of different ages that play together and moms that can chat while everyone plays. Last week we had a little get together with some of the moms for a play date. Now that the weather is nice the kids were able to play outside while the moms sat and talked.

Jude loves toys that go and do things. I love quite toys that don't use any batteries. Now we can compromise with WOW Toys. All WOW Toys have amazing functions and features to discover without using any batteries.

We received Ronnie Rocket, Dudley Dump Truck, and Ernie Fire Engine. Jude loves to count down to blast off with Ronnie Rocket. He fills Dudley Dump Truck and then dumps the contents and laughs. And of course he loves to hear the bell of Ernie Fire Engine.
